Windi

Greetings Colleagues,

My name is Windi Sasaki and I am proud to be the Chair of the Standing Committee for Multicultural Affairs, or CMA.  As an undergraduate student, my mentor had gotten me connected to the Asian Pacific American Network (APAN).  This connection to APAN and to CMA has helped me grow first as a student and now as a professional.  It is my hope that my work will contribute to other professionals through their connection to CMA and its Networks. I encourage you to participate with us in many ways:

  • Join the Network listservs, follow the Networks on Twitter, and join our Facebook groups.  These are great ways to get connected to other folks, stay current, and to find other folks who are dealing with similar issues as you.  These are also great places to seek advice, resources, and support from other professionals.

  • Visit us at the Convention.  CMA and its Networks have socials, meetings, sponsored programs, and CultureFest.  We hope that if you are able to attend the Convention in Louisville, you will join us so that we can get to know you better.

  • Write with us.  There are opportunities to write for our Newsletters, Network blogs, or even to work with others to submit scholarly work to different outlets in the association.  This is a great way to share your best practices, research, and experiences with others and to learn from others.

  • Join us.  We have opportunities in Committees and in the leadership in CMA and in the Networks to create opportunities for folks to connect year-round.  Since we are all volunteers, it is helpful for everyone to have more folks involved who can help to create more opportunities for gathering, sharing, educating, celebrating, and advocating.  Please contact me or anyone on the CMA Directorate or Network Leadership Teams for more information about how you can get involved.

I look forward to working with all of you to move our profession forward and hope to speak with you soon.

Sincerely,

Windi Sasaki
