Internship year is extremely exciting and full of professional development opportunities and growth.  We'd like to share with you another fantastic opportunity – membership with the Commission for Counseling and Psychological Services (CCAPS), a division of ACPA – College Student Educators International.  CCAPS is the premier organization that serves the professional development and advocacy needs of counseling center personnel.  Our members are primarily psychologists, social workers, counselors and graduate students working in college and university counseling centers at all levels – directors, training directors, staff members and others.  All are welcome to join CCAPS! 

As an intern, here are some things we will offer you:

• Numerous opportunities to keep up on current issues counseling centers are dealing with across the country

In addition, at the annual ACPA convention, CCAPS will offer you many other opportunities such as our famous networking luncheon, training on current, hot topics for counseling center professionals (past topics have included:  multicultural competencies in counseling; suicide crisis and prevention programs; feminist therapy – from the Stone Center; and Eating Disorders – from The Renfrew Center), participation on committees, participation in CCAPS business meetings, chances to win great prizes and meet great people.  We truly have a lot of fun and invite you to be a part of it!
