The Task Force for Alumni Relations and Development (TFARD) welcomes all ACPA members to join us for various events during the Annual Convention. As a new entity within ACPA, the Task Force works to inform ACPA members about the connections between institutional advancement and student affairs through its programming and interactions at the convention.
Since 2011, TFARD has hosted an annual open business meeting during the convention. The open business meeting serves as an opportunity for ACPA members to learn about the Task Force and ways to get involved. In addition to the open business meeting, TFARD has participated in the annual Convention Showcase, which highlights the various entities - commissions, task forces, standing committees, state associations, etc. - available within ACPA. The Task Force also hosted our first roundtable during the 2011 Convention in Baltimore. The roundtable allowed members of ACPA to discuss connections between alumni relations and student affairs. In addition to the business meeting and the Showcase, the Task Force for Alumni Relations also sponsors programs related to the intersection of intitiutional advancement and student affairs. The 2012 Convention was the first year we sponsored programs with two programs covering development and engaging alumni of a residential life program. The Task Force will sponsor programs for upcoming conventions, so make sure you check the Convention Programs page for more information.
