
Dr. Keith Humphrey serves as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs & Assistant Professor of Practice & Coordinator of the Master's Program in Higher Education at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Previous positions he has held include Associate Dean of Students, Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Orientation - all at The University of Arizona.
Keith's involvement in ACPA began as a graduate student with the Standing Committee for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Awareness, reflecting ACPA's value of involvement in leadership from all levels of the profession. He held several directorate positions within that group and ultimately served as Chair of the SCLGBTA from 2001-2003. He is proud to be the first former standing committee Chair to be elected President of ACPA.
This is Keith's third term on ACPA's Governing Board, having previously served as Director of Membership Development from 2007-2010 and on the Executive Council from 2001-2003. Keith also held membership on ACPA's Governance Task Force and Governance Implementation Team that re-visioned ACPA's governance model from 2003-2006. Additionally he was co-Chair for Special Events for the 2009 Convention in Metro Washington DC.
He is the proud recipient of the Diamond Honoree in 2011, the Presidential Citation in 2009, the Contribution to the SCLGBTA in 2004 and the SCLGBTA New Professional Award in 1999.
Keith received his B.A. in Government from The College of William and Mary, his M. Ed. in Counseling Psychology from James Madison University and his Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Arizona. Keith and his partner Brett have two children, Isaiah and Robert "Panchito".
